"Thank you for such wonderful memories!" My friend Cheryl & I decided to go to Greece in July After reviewing Matt Barrett's detailed website it took me to.

Having a feeling of appreciation and not showing it is like wrapping a gift and not giving it out. It doesn’t do you any good holding back an appreciation, but it does you a lot of good when you show it. When appreciation is expressed, it has a way of opening more doors for good things. Here is a huge list of awesome appreciation quotes.

Lyrics to 'Thanks for The Memories' by Frank Sinatra. Writer(s): leo robin/ralph rainger Thanks for the memory Of things I can't forget Journeys on a jet.

Thank you for the unforgettable memories

thanks for the good memories

A bittersweet month has finally turned into a lone, bittersweet day. As I prepare to leave Penn State Fayette to accept a new challenge, I fondly reminisce about my three years in the athletic department, and it has been a rewarding experience for me to impact the lives of young people, and I hope to continue to do that with the United States Collegiate Athletic Association in my new role as the Administrator of Membership Services and Director of Championships.

It’s been difficult for me to write this entry, as I have put it off until the last possible moment. While I am excited and ready to begin a new career, I am not happy to be leaving Fayette. In three short years, I have made many friends, met thousands of wonderful students, and worked with several fine colleagues. All of those things will be memorable, and I will not soon forget the wonderful opportunities I have been afforded here.

Penn State Fayette is where I got my first “big boy” job, as my parents would say. I have had wonderful experiences working with several different departments, and have learned so much, especially from Vince Capozzi, my boss, mentor and most importantly, my friend.

While I continue to struggle with the words to put down on paper, I graze through the endless memories I have made at Fayette, and the countless people I have encountered. I think back to the first day of classes in the fall of 2009, my first day of work. I can still see the cramped office space, and I can still sense the helpless feeling I experienced being in a new place, surrounded by new people, not knowing a soul. It reminded me of my first day of grad school.

I recall walking in the gym to meet the volleyball team, wandering in as they stretched at their first practice with a brand new coach. I remember the near nervous breakdown I endured a month and a half into the job, the lunches with co-workers and the smiles and laughs I shared with everyone. I remember the championships for women’s volleyball and women’s basketball; the first ever cross country meet on campus; my first baseball and softball games; the growth of the men’s basketball program; and the birth of the wrestling squad.

My emotions over the past month have ranged from excitement and jubilation to nervousness and fright, a fully mixed bag. All of this change has occurred quickly, but for most of the time in the past 30 days I have felt peaceful and relaxed. It’s an uncommon feeling for someone who has been involved in athletics for so many years—all the days of living and dying by a point, a run, a play, takes the calm out of people. It’s tough to slow down when you’re used to moving swiftly. Somehow, though, my body knew I needed to feel comfortable, and my brain miraculously followed, even as life threw curves in the road. But the comfort came in the form of the lessons I learned from similar situations in my past.

The path I have taken has not always been easy, and I tell college students to enjoy the ride they are on. Life won’t always be easy, but if you take the good with the bad, and know deep down things will work out, life becomes much more enjoyable. I am far from an eternal optimist, but I know my life has improved from trusting myself and knowing what I am capable of, while also considering the glass to be half-full. And I know that part of that trust has come from my education, an education that continues to this day.

To be educated is an incredible tool, and while it does not guarantee success in the future, I promise it enriches your life in ways you will never fully understand. College allows you to educate yourself about your own intricacies, challenges your beliefs and forces critical thinking. And while you may not remember all of the muscles in the body or the equations from calculus, you will remember the days lounging around with your friends and the nights you might rather forget.

That is truly the best part about college—when you look back the stories grow fonder, even as specific details from those memories fade away. So while my bittersweet sensation continues, I know in my heart that the people I met, the impacts I made and the stories I remember will only continue to grow in size and substance over the rest of my life.

Thank you for being a part of a wonderful chapter in my life, and for the impression you left with me. I hope I have even begun to have the same profound impact on you. I am forever grateful to my alma mater and the people I have worked with at Penn State Fayette.

Go State!

Fight on State!

We are….!

For the Glory!

But most importantly, Go Roaring Lions

Frontiers for Young Minds

thanks for the good memories

“Close your eyes and stare into the dark. My father's advice when I couldn't sleep as a little girl. He wouldn't want me to do that now but I've set my mind to the task regardless. I'm staring beyond my closed eyelids. Though I lie still on the ground, I feel perched at the highest point I could possibly be; clutching at a star in the night sky with my legs dangling above cold black nothingness. I take one last look at my fingers wrapped around the light and let go. Down I go, falling, then floating, and, falling again, I wait for the land of my life. I know now, as I knew as that little girl fighting sleep, that behind her gauzed screen of shut-eye, lies colour. It taunts me, dares me to open my eyes and lose sleep. Flashes of red and amber, yellow and white speckle my darkness. I refuse to open them. I rebel and I squeeze my eyelids together tighter to block out the grains of light, mere distractions that keep us awake but a sign that there's life beyond.
But there's no life in me. None that I can feel, from where I lie at the bottom of the staircase. My heart beats quicker now, the lone fighter left standing in the ring, a red boxing glove pumping victoriously into the air, refusing to give up. It's the only part of me that cares, the only part that ever cared. It fights to pump the blood around to heal, to replace what I'm losing. But it's all leaving my body as quickly as it's sent; forming a deep black ocean of its own around me where I've fallen.
Rushing, rushing, rushing. We are always rushing. Never have enough time here, always trying to make our way there. Need to have left here five minutes ago, need to be there now. The phone rings again and I acknowledge the irony. I could have taken my time and answered it now.
Now, not then.
I could have taken all the time in the world on each of those steps. But we're always rushing. All, but my heart. That slows now. I don't mind so much. I place my hand on my belly. If my child is gone, and I suspect this is so, I'll join it there. There.....where? Wherever. It; a heartless word. He or she so young; who it was to become, still a question. But there, I will mother it.
There, not here. I'll tell it; I'm sorry, sweetheart, I'm sorry I ruined your chances - our chances of a life together. But close your eyes and stare into the darkness now, like Mummy is doing, and we'll find our way together.
There's a noise in the room and I feel a presence. 'Oh God, Joyce, oh God. Can you hear me, love? Oh God. Oh God, please no, Hold on love, I'm here. Dad is here.'
I don't want to hold on and I feel like telling him so. I hear myself groan, an animal-like whimper and it shocks me, scares me. I have a plan, I want to tell him. I want to go, only then can I be with my baby. Then, not now.
He's stopped me from falling but I haven't landed yet. Instead he helps me balance on nothing, hover while I'm forced to make the decision. I want to keep falling but he's calling the ambulance and he's gripping my hand with such ferocity it's as though I'm all he has. He's brushing the hair from my forehead and weeping loudly. I've never heard him weep. Not even when Mum died. He clings to my hand with all of his strength I never knew his old body had and I remember that I am all he has and that he, once again just like before, is my whole world. The blood continues to rush through me. Rushing, rushing, rushing. We are always rushing. Maybe I'm rushing again. Maybe it's not my time to go. I feel the rough skin of old hands squeezing mine, and their intensity and their familiarity force me to open my eyes. Lights fills them and I glimpse his face, a look I never want to see again. He clings to his baby. I know I lost mind; I can't let him lose his. In making my decision I already begin to grieve. I've landed now, the land of my life. And still my heart pumps on.
Even when broken it still works.”

thanks for the good memories

I'm gonna make you bend and break
(It sent you to me without wait)
Say a prayer, but let the good times roll
In case God doesn't show
(Let the good times roll)
(Let the good times roll)
And I want these words to make things right
But it's the wrongs that make the words come to life
"Who does he think he is?"
If that's the worst you've got better put your fingers back to the keys

One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great
"He tastes like you only sweeter"
One night, yeah, and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Thanks for the memories
See, "He tastes like you only sweeter"

I'm looking forward to the future,
But my eyesight is going bad
And this crystal ball
It's always cloudy except for
(Except for)
When you look into the past
(Look into the past)
One night stand
(One night stand off)

One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great
"He tastes like you only sweeter"
One night, yeah, and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Thanks for the memories
See, "He tastes like you only sweeter"

They say I only think
In the form of crunching numbers
In hotel rooms
Collecting page six lovers
Get me out of my mind
Get you out of those clothes
I'm a liner away from
Getting you into the mood
Whoa!

One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great
"He tastes like you only sweeter"
One night, yeah, and one more time
Thanks for the memories

One night and one more time (One more night, one more time)
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great
